Week 6

Kia orana everyone!

We are now in Week 6 of the term and are working harder than ever in our learning and striving to achieve our goals.  Last weeks musical performance was a great success, and watching the Ninja Warriors on stage performing "Shackles" was definitely the highlight of my week.  All those many practices paid off and they should feel very proud of what they have achieved.

Shackles Performance
-The charming and confident Apoua introduced our item....
-Super Talented Tim was on the drums and guitar with Toobs... (Wow how does he do it!)
-On vocals was the beautiful singing team Harrieta, Anahera, Kleshay and Alicia.
-The creative percussion team of Rose, Anahera, Kleshay, Jodeci, Seira, Harrieta and Shermiah performed their fresh new beats.
-And on the dance team were the rest of the amazing Ninja Warriors who brought it all together. Well done everyone!

Trip to MOTAT

As part of our flight topic, the Ninja Warriors were super fortunate to go on a trip to MOTAT to explore the museum and to also take part in a Fantastic Flight session with one of the educators there.

We had such a great time and learnt about the four forces of flight which are:

- Thrust (which is moving forward)
- Drag (which goes back)
- Lift ( brings it up)
- Weight (brings it down)

On a plane if there is too much lift and not enough weight, it will just go up up and up. If there is too much drag and not enough thrust, it will go backwards.  We discovered that is important for all these forces to be balanced to create flight.
